How we got to where we are today
What we believe in
Why we do what we do
I believe that investing is essential. Investing in yourself through reading, training, and learning from others’ success and investing in your financial future by taking action. My purpose is to support people to do this.
Up to the age of 15, my parents and family moved houses 11 times. When starting my first job after university at 22 years old, my parents strongly encouraged me to get on the property ladder’ straight away. I was able to get at 100% mortgage and bought a 1 bedroom flat for £65k in Didcot in Oxfordshire.
2 years later, that property was worth £104k, and I had made £39k in 2 years just by deciding to buy a property. I didn’t even use any of my own money (I didn’t have any). I realised property investing was something worth taking seriously.
Reading the book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki cemented my beliefs about the importance of investing. ‘An asset puts money into your pocked and a liability takes money out of your pocket’ it was now my job to grow my assets.
I believed that if I continued to buy and own property, enjoy and work hard at my accountancy career, I would eventually be ‘successful’.
Roll forward to now, and we:
- Own a property portfolio of student and professional multi-let properties in Norwich
- Manage a growing portfolio of houses for like-minded property investors through Jones&Co Lettings.
- Have a third property business that offers landlords peace of mind and a guaranteed monthly income.
Our property portfolio has allowed my partner not to have to go back to work after maternity leave. Owning property also allowed me to start Jones&Co lettings, leave my finance career, and support others in creating and build their property portfolios.
